Based in Qualicum Beach, Canada, UK-born artist Andy Phillips creates abstract mixed media paintings, experimental Polaroid photography, and small-scale sculptures. Inspired by themes of impermanence, the beauty of decay, and the contrast between urban roots and the Canadian wilderness, Andy invites viewers to bring their own interpretations to his evocative and process-driven work. His practice is also informed by his personal experience living with ME/CFS, lending a unique perspective to his exploration of fragility and time.
